4 Reasons Why Dogs Are Great Emotional Support

October 9, 2020

Wolves and dogs separated and became distinct species some 15,000 to 40,000 years ago. Anthropologists suggest dogs became domesticated between 20,000 and 30,000 years ago. It is then clear to see that dogs have been beside man for many thousands of years, and because of this, have become as reliant upon us, as we have on them. Dogs are, for many of us, our best friends; our companions; our respite. This page will hope to tell you four reasons why dogs are great emotional support animals – and how they can help you to cheer up.

1. Emotional Support

Some dogs are actually licensed to work as therapists! Yes, well, sort of. Emotional support animals are a popular thing for those suffering from anxiety. The service works by having regular sessions with a dog who you pet, stroke, and just spend time with. It has been proven to combat depression and anxiety. One service,American Service Pets can get same day approval for your emotional support dog. The speed with which this can be approved is essential to combatting your woes. Having an ESA is a great way to fight back against depression and anxiety.

2. Indiscriminate

Human beings can be horrible to one another, even those that are meant to help us. Animals, dogs specifically, are indiscriminate. They do not judge by color, creed, or religion. They judge by character. If you are in need of help and are downtrodden, a dog will always want to give you attention and love, providing they have been socialized and raised properly. Dogs are indiscriminate carers who can offer emotional support regardless of who you are or what you look like. If only people were the same.

3. Non-Stop Love

Dogs will provide you with non-stop love and affection. A dog is never satisfied until he is in his master’s embrace. Dog’s are a great way to feel warm and comfortable when you are often downtrodden and cold. Dogs are a great pet to have around if you suffer fromanxiety and depression [and loneliness], as they will pester you with snuffles and affection until you are overcome. Having a dog around means you will never be lonely and that you will have a friend who will never judge you, nor make you feel small or unwanted. Dogs are great, aren’t they?

4. Companionship

Dogs provide companionship andemotional support. For those of us unfortunate [or fortunate, depending on how you look at it] enough to have little human companionship, dog’s will be your unquestionable companions, and remain by your side throughout whatever. Dogs provide you companionship, love, and affection. If you have nobody else in your life – at least you will have your dog. Dog’s will always remain by your side throughout whatever afflicts you and will defend you until their last breath. This is why dogs are man’s best friend, and the saying holds true. You will never have a friend like a dog.

Now, with the help of this page, you know everything that there is to know about why dogs are the best friends that a man could possibly ever have. Dog’s are great emotional support animals. If you are down and out – it might be time to pick up a pooch.

Love teacups…I am a first time owner. Thinking mix of maltese and shitzu…but not sure what to look for to make sure it is in good health. A breeder contacted me and had what I am looking for…but she said it was the runt…and will be tiny.

Your website impressed me…please contact me. How much too…curious on price.
