What you need to know about Pet sitting before you hire someone

July 8, 2019

A lot of individuals own pets such as cats, dogs or even parrots. These animals have a lot of benefits as they keep a person company and show a lot of love and warmth to their owners. For instance, dogs offer even guiding services and assist people who are physically challenged, Pets need love and attention as well, but sometimes offering this may be a challenge, especially when one has to go to work. The good news is, there is a solution to this problem. Pet sitters are available and will take care of and feed your pet while you are at work or at school. Below are some things you need to know, though, before hiring a sitter.

1. Consider the type of training they have

One thing to consider before hiring a pet sitter is the kind of training that they have. This will enable you to acquire the information you need to determine whether or not they will be able to take care of your pet properly. For instance, do they know what kind of equipment to use on your pets? This is necessary to establish beforehand for the sake of safety. Moreover, would they know what to do in the event of an emergency or an injury? Proper training ensures that your pet sitter is thoroughly equipped for all of these occurrences. Ask for certifications as well as this will prove that they have gone through the right training for this job.

2. Reviews and reputation

Your pet sitter should be one hundred percent committed to the job. They should be eager to do their best and to establish some chemistry with your pet. It will not do you any good to hire somebody who does not have a heart for animals as your pet will have a difficult and rough time the whole day. Your pet sitter needs to actually care about animals and be present enough to walk them, play with them and even give them a bath, if they are dogs, for instance. A great way to identify whether or not they are good pet sitters is to read their reviews online. These will help you to identify if they have done good jobs in the past and if they will be a good fit.

3. Company’s mission

An organization’s mission and vision statement goes a long way into providing some insight into what the company believes in. It will enable you to understand their values, ethics, beliefs and establish if your ideal match. Selecting an app or an organization that believes in the same things that you do will ensure that you get the full value for your money. You will reduce the risk of having bad sitter experiences and most importantly, you will be in a lot of peace knowing that you have left your pet in good hands. For instance, a company such as Queen City Pet Sitting & Dog Walking is definitely one of the best choices that you can make as they will ensure that your pet will be okay and happy while you are away.

Love teacups…I am a first time owner. Thinking mix of maltese and shitzu…but not sure what to look for to make sure it is in good health. A breeder contacted me and had what I am looking for…but she said it was the runt…and will be tiny.

Your website impressed me…please contact me. How much too…curious on price.
